Frequently Asked Questions
Your guide to the Uniswap App Exchange, decentralized trading, and using the FluidNexus interface securely.
General & Security
Uniswap is a decentralized protocol, not a single app. FluidNexus is an independent, secure interface or 'gateway' developed to provide user-friendly access to the Uniswap Protocol. All trades executed through FluidNexus happen directly on the official Uniswap smart contracts, ensuring security and decentralization.
In DeFi, there are no traditional logins. You connect by using the "Connect Wallet" feature on our site, which uses protocols like WalletConnect. This allows our interface to propose transactions which you must approve in your non-custodial wallet (e.g., MetaMask, Trust Wallet). Your private keys and assets never leave your wallet.
The Uniswap Protocol itself is highly secure and audited. The main risks are user-related: interacting with malicious token contracts or connecting to fraudulent websites. By using a trusted interface like FluidNexus at our official URL, you mitigate the risk of phishing. Always double-check token contract addresses before trading.
Be extremely cautious of any app claiming to be 'the' Uniswap app in mobile app stores. The safest way to use Uniswap on mobile is to use the built-in DApp browser of a major crypto wallet app (like MetaMask or Trust Wallet) and navigate to our website, https://hyperliquid-apps.io. This prevents you from using malicious apps designed to steal your funds.
Yes. The most secure way to interact with any DeFi application is by using a hardware wallet. You can connect your Ledger or Trezor to a web wallet like MetaMask, and then connect MetaMask to the FluidNexus interface. This ensures all transaction approvals must happen on your physical device, providing the highest level of security.
Trading on Uniswap
The key difference is 'concentrated liquidity.' In V2, liquidity is spread across all possible prices. V3 allows liquidity providers to concentrate their capital within specific price ranges, making trading more capital-efficient, reducing slippage for traders, and potentially increasing fees for providers. FluidNexus is optimized for the Uniswap V3 protocol.
Gas fees are payments made to network validators to process your transaction on the blockchain (e.g., Ethereum). The cost depends on network congestion and the complexity of the transaction. FluidNexus provides a gas fee tracker to help you estimate costs and choose the best time to trade.
Slippage is the difference between the expected price of a trade and the price at which the trade is actually executed. It occurs in volatile markets or with low-liquidity tokens. Our interface allows you to set a 'slippage tolerance' percentage. If the price changes more than your set tolerance, the transaction will revert, protecting you from a bad trade.
Anyone can create a token on Ethereum, so it's impossible to vet them all. Our default list includes well-known tokens. You can trade any token by pasting its contract address into the search bar. However, be extremely careful and ensure the address is from a trusted source to avoid scam tokens.
Impermanent Loss is a risk for liquidity providers (LPs), not for those simply swapping tokens. It's the potential opportunity cost of providing liquidity to a pool versus simply holding the assets in your wallet. When you are performing a swap on the Uniswap exchange, you are not exposed to impermanent loss.
